Privacy policy
How whotheyfind.com handles information. It covers this website, the early access signup, and the properties customers connect. It is short by design and grows with the product.
What we collect
- Visitors. We use Google Analytics to measure how the site is used: pages viewed, how you arrived, approximate location from your IP address, and your browser and device. It sets cookies to do that.
- Early access. The email address you submit and which form on this site you used.
- Connected properties. For customers who connect a site, we process that site's content along with its search and analytics data to find and fix what holds that site back in search.
- Dashboard use. For signed in customers we record which screens are opened and which actions are taken, so we can see where the product is confusing. In the dashboard we also record how you use it: where you click, how far you scroll, and a recreation of your session, through PostHog. Text on the screen and anything you type are masked before they leave your browser, so a recording shows the shapes of the pages and not your words.
- Payment. For customers who subscribe, the billing details Stripe needs. We never see or store card numbers.
Cookies
Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics. No advertising cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, and Google publishes an opt-out add-on attools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
How we use it
To answer early access requests, to run the service for connected accounts, and to understand which parts of the site are useful. We do not sell personal information, and customer site data is not used to train models.
Who else is involved
Four companies process data for us, each for one job, under their own terms:
- Google Analytics. How this website is used.
- PostHog. How the dashboard is used by signed in customers.
- Resend. The emails we send you.
- Stripe. Payment. Card details go to Stripe, never to us.
Behind those sit the providers we rent hosting and database storage from.
Keeping it, and removing it
Signup data is currently stored in the EU. We keep it while early access is open and for as long as we have a reason to contact you. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to see, correct or delete personal data, or to object to how it is used.
To ask for a copy of your data or to have it deleted, write to[email protected] from the address you signed up with. We answer within 30 days. Deleting an account removes the signup record, the connected properties and everything we collected about them.
Changes
This policy changes as the product does. The date above says when it last did.
